I don't know that the SMC in DJI SMC Team means, sorry.
A Beta version is an unfinished software/firmware, it is a test version. Depending on what is new in the software/firmware, there can be more or less risk. For instance, are we testing new flight algorithms, or a picture filter that we can add to photos?

Generally, if you want to be on the safe side, only use official release versions. If you use your drone commercially and are dependent on it for your business, don't use betas on it. If you have a spare drone though, which you are not dependent on and you can live with occasional bugs, but you want to test bleeding edge functions, you can test a beta. But never, ever, use beta software if you are dependent on your drone and you can't accept bugs. There will be a high probability that there are bugs in the beta - maybe not risky all the time, but there will probably be bugs.

How do you download the "Beta"?

Please release the new update non-beta asap but I doubt I would use it for my P4PV2.0 because I just use that for mapping/ortho missions.

Can you fix the 4:3/3:2 problem when switching drones while in one of those modes?  You can't switch out of 16:9 unless you change camera modes.

Not sure if this is related to the beta or not, but my Smart Controller completely locked up and wouldn’t charge, boot up, or respond to anything until I did a certain combination of buttons when I plugged in the power cable.  See the thread below for more details.

Yes but it’s a pretty simple exercise to re-pair .

For the Mavic 2, I pair the Smart Controller as my primary controller and pair my regular controller as the secondary controller.  That way, in a pinch, I can be up and flying very quickly with my regular controller without having to re-pair it.  And if I do want full functionality with my regular controller, like hallmark007 says, it is very simple to re-pair it as the primary.

Does anyone know when the final version will be available ? Almost a month and a half since it was announced...

Seems like nobody is giving a ... for this beta version at DJI. I see people giving feedback, trying to contibute but the are completely ignored.... and for what I saw, there nothing fancy about this version...  I just wish they only fix what is really broken. Smart controller have been working almost great so far... the last thing we need is a new FW full of useless new features, and new (and old) problems....

I agree but, at least, they could say something about the date of the final release...

I'm still unable to stream live from Facebook with pages where I'am admin. Only I can do with my Facebook profile. DJI when you resolve this problem?
I think Facebook has changed API a few months ago.... DJI come on, update it, please!

Hi there!

Streaming to FB pages works fine with the iOS version of DJI, but doesn't seem to be an option in the Smart Controller beta.  Makes it pretty much useless for me.  I don't have any inclination to stream to my personal profile, but it would be useful to be able to stream to my managed pages.  I pass along this same feedback a month or so ago on the first page of this thread.  Haven't seen any feedback at all.  

Still no "support" for the beta-tester ? And still no News about the final version of the firmware ?

i have the smart controller paired up and the dji goggles paired as well.  can i also add the regular controller or is there a 2-piece limit?

I am guessing if we have not been invited to participate by now we are not getting in.   DJI, how about an update?

Hmmm, that is a good question.  I've not tried that yet.  When I get some time, I'll try to remember to give that a try.
