Today I lost signal just 2min 30s into the flight. Separate witnesses say it was flying towards me, likely RTH, and it was “smoking.”
Conditions: - Sunny, minimal wind, ideal
- Rural area, trees and rice fields
- Battery 86% or 22min remaining
- Signal excellent 15 satellites
Incident: - Distance 1026m
- Hight 120m
- Sport mode when it “disconnected”
- I went to exact GPS location within battery life
- It never reconnected
- Eye witnesses saw it about 100m away from last known GPS
- It was likely on RTH (3 eye witnesses consistent “home” direction)
- 1 witness said it was “smoking”
- No screen recoding during flight.
- I was looking at the same Cache video when the screen turned black “Disconnected”

Observations:
- Flight log recoding ends at 2min 30s
- Flight time on list says 3minutes
- What happened in those 30s?
- Three separate witnesses from different locations say it was flying towards me, likely RTH,
- One of those 3 witnesses said it was “smoking.”
Current status (7hrs missing): - Emailed DJI Support
- Received email response with ticket number
- DJI FB Chat gave me CAS number
- Now waiting update, sent files requested
Might be unrelated but this was another weird flight (26 seconds then CSC) - Only ten days ago I experienced no response from R-stick (directions)
- L-stick responded for lift off and descend only
- RTH established
- R-stick no response
- (Notice distance moves while sticks have no input)
- (I tried moving sticks slightly on first few seconds after take off)
- (Only stick input registered on flight log is take off off and CSC - see video below)
- Immediately descended but it would not land at 2 feet
- Did CSC to kill motors at 2 feet
- Restarted and it was fine
- No cache, i was not recoding yet
