Stumbeled on this, this morning. Bet it will be able to toast your electronics too. All you night riders & Long Rangers take note. DJI won't be covering this "cause of crash".

Fanciful nonsense.
The level of paranoia about harmless toy drones is amazing, particularly when there are 300 million guns in the society but that's accepted as nothing to worry about.

It's about monitoring. There is nothing to cause a crash. Frankly, I don't care who monitors me as long as I am within the law... which I always strive to be.

I'm with you. They can watch me all they want. They're going to get awful bored watching me. And trust me; monitoring is pointless if action cannot be taken if needed.

Actually the source is Live Science and not Fox news   If you read the article it said that The agency is hosting a Proposers Day on Sept. 26 for new technologies for the Aerial Dragnet program.  I interpret this as they are a long way from being operational.

They like to throw these scare tactics out, but we aren't catching them, nor are they going to capture any of my drones. Ha

Sensationalist rubbish. What use are drones to a terrorist? Show me a proven example of a consumer drone being used by terrorists?

What are they going to do? Drop a bag of dog pile on someone?

That was the source I was referring to.

I did some research and DARPA did indeed announce this.  Such a monitor doesn't exist and I'm guessing it never will.
