Several things don't try to DIY initially. Get a Phantom 2 bare bones without a camera and gimbal you can add that later after you learn to fly. Get a couple of spare batteries. One is not enough. Two read the manual several times. Three print out the LED sequences and what they mean. Four initially fly in Phantom mode, fly close to you and fly with the tail in. It will help you with orientation. It is easy to fly in GPS mode. Make sure that you have GPS lock and home point set. Check for solar activity don't fly when it is high. Only fly in open areas away from power lines and other sources of interference. Calibrate your compass before your first flight and when you move to a different flying location. Throughly confused? You won't be once you read the manual. It will all make sense. Guys that are a little intimidated seldom have problems. Guys that go, "Yea I can do this", most of the time crash hard trying to do too much too fast. |
