I am a devout android user and love my Galaxy S7 Edge, but the Go4 app is driving me crazy with lock ups, disconnections and jerky video feed. I am seriously considering buying an Apple just for my Mavic controller if it's better. Can iPad users please comment on the reliability and user satisfaction of the iPad Mini for Mavic use? Also, how well does the Mini fit the controller?

I fly all of my DJI platforms using a iPad Mini 4 and have NEVER had any issues.  The Mini 4 fits fine within the Mavic RC.  Also, the Mini 4 is on sale at Best Buy here in the US.

I use an iPad Air 2 (A8 chip) and not had any probs with it.

iPad mini is not supported by DJI Go 4. Only iPads with an A7 or higher processors will run DJI GO4 app.

For me, iPad mini 4 is perfect for the mavic, way better than any phone.

That one is all right. I was referring to the original iPad mini or the iPad mini 2. Anything with an A7 chip or higher will work

I am with ipad mini 2 (take it second hand for bigger screen replacing Samsung S7 - works great but is small and i kept overlooking things ;) ) - Bigger is Better ;) DJI Go 4 working well (besides one case of Mobile CPU fully loaded error"" message   and one crash of application - happen on android for me also once). Better look for short 90 degrees lightning cable as standard cables ares short for ipad mini and long ones are waving around .

Because of the problems with the app I switched to iPad 4 Mini... for the first time I could fly a complete battery without any problems...

I tried an Ipad Mini 2, but got a lot of screen distortions and delays 300 meters away. Read somewhere the A7 chip is the problem and got an Ipad Mini 4 with an A8 chip, problem solved!
