I have a cheap chinese tk 102 gps tracker. It works flawless and comes with 2 batteries. Its 30-35 dollars on amazon and ebay and weighs around 50 grams. I use it both on my phantom and inspire and absolutely love it! There are more rc focused options out there but they are more expensive. They are lighter and smaller so if you have other uses for it (smaller aircraft) it could be more handy, but for the inspire the 50g weight really doesn't affect it.
The tracker send you an sms with location data after you call it. There are no monthly fees, you only pay for the 1 sms it sends to you. If you have a smartphone you can see the location directly in google maps (accuracy about 1-3 meters).
A buzzer is a small device meant to help you find your quad by giving an audible buzzing sound. It will not help you in a flyaway since it doesn't provide you with location data. There are folks on these forums that have there quad fly for miles before it crashed. Personally I wouldn't use those. |
