Well, I have tried it the 1st time, not grewat, got some work to do, but I finally got the app going, working on a better mount, and we will see what develops.. a 360 photo with one click would also be nice.. and considering I got this camewra for just above $100, cannot really complain...
I have noit seen any significant impact on the drone, power amps) or stability, which is good and just shows how good phantom is...
And once I get better quality 360 video going too, it should be pretty cool! Strill, for first test, being able to "look around" as you watch is cool, in itself!
Good work. Really appreciated being able to look around during the flight. But most interesting was LOOKING UP and seeing the flying quad, lights-a-blinking, sky moving in background, and GIMBAL MOVING, ADJUSTING TO CONDITIONS. What a novel perspective.
Thanks for the thrilling feeling of hanging from a quad in flight. Keep the good work Up.
yes, i kept looking up too ;)
Just worked another mount, we will see how that works, but the up view may be just a bit obstructed.
Also got a hack for the gear 360 app, so now i may be able to control camera remotely, which means some adjustment and still 360 photos as well as better quality video... maybe....
hand launch is more of a pain for me, but i am getting it; autolanding, i am hoping not to experience these.. landing into my hand, or rather coming by and plucking it out of the air, works well so far.

Yes!! Hand catching can be dangerous, even with a simple Phantom.
Ah yes, but with practice, and a falconry glove on... ;-)
Or you could build a launch pad with the centre section removed.
Also consider some Wilt Chamberlain stilts...
Are you using DJI carbon fiber reinforced props? Chuckles

I bought a Gear 360. I was so p*ssed off with the poor quality images I am going to flog it off on eBay.
What was the problem? Like the main one? When I looked at the 2017 it was the resolution; on this one it has a tendency to make sky to bright, so it's washed out.. but at least resolution is ok, and the whole 360 is.. well, not terrible.. not great, but not terrible... It certainly is a different "class" of a camera... I wonder how do the Thetas and other that are over $400...

Maybe I have an earlier one, don't know. But the resolution was awful, and I could not send the 360 photo to anyone, it just came out flat, and you could not invoke the 360 degree bit. I was not impressed by the small number of platforms that supported the 360 shot either, basically only YouTube.
