I was excited about the new Osmo Mobile until I saw that the side 3/8” port has been completely eliminated. How am I supposed to mount an external mic? The gimbal has enough NOISE to record on a camera’s onboard mic and the quality of a camera’s mic pales in comparison to a professional microphone. You guys completely missed the boat if you considered the side port solely as a tripod stand attachment. Kudos to the 1/4” port on bottom but you should have left the side port alone.
Mind if I ask how would I mount an external mic with an iPhone X setup considering the mount is covering the lightning port? Bluetooth mic such a thing?
Bluetooth mics are a thing. I prefer wired since it eliminates latency issues. Also there are many more professional mics that have been manufactured with professional recording in mind. Consider this original chip T adapter to change how the lightning connector can be used.

Totally agree. What were DJI thinking of when they designed version 2 of Osmo Mobile? Why blocking the lightning port in landscape mode?
