That's not much information to go on.
It would be extremely unusual for the Phantom to not record a home point.

If you share your recorded flight data someone may be able to work out just what happened.
It would also help if you can provide some description of what happened.
Go to http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Follow the instructions there to upload your flight record from your phone or tablet.
Come back and post a link to the report it provides

I have a Flight Record

I can see where it is...on the DJI app phantom 4 , in the flight record.

But its vinter in Sweden and I cant reach that area now , I have to wait for spring to come

Enyway , I did press homepoint on the app

And i did press return to homepoint on the remotecontroll

You can see that I press returnhome on the flight record , twice

The drone still ...not responding... flying away

Sending the log to DJI does not help much, as they don't analyse it and adfvise you. You should post a link to the file on Phantomhelp, then other members here can examine it and offer an explanation. The screen shot is no good to anyone, we need a link to the actual file.

Hello , this is my second DJI Phantom 4

My first 1 , did crash in to an antena 100 meters up in the air

I did set the homepoint on 100 meters since I did look at the houses around me , that was around 70-80 meters

So my Drone crash in to the antena ... fall down in to the ground and  went into 1000 pices.

Then I went to buy another DJI PHANTOM 4 , my second DJI Drone.

I been very happy with my DJI PHANTOM 4 , I am realy honest , I realy Love my Phantom 4 , enyway

Now I have been fying it for almost 2 years

I live in Stockholm City , where I cant fly my Drone

So ... I go to places where there is No... " NO FLIGHT ZON "

My family house in Dalarna , a 2 hour ride with car outside Stockholm.

So , I was supposed to make a nice little movie for my father , who lives there.

I , start my Drone

Fly for some minutes and then I want a far distance picture.

So I fly up to 500 meters up in the air.... take a nice view picture over my fathers land

Then I want to take the Drone home and it dosent respond

I press Return to home point

The app tells me it will return now

Nothing happens...

The Drone just fly away and I cant control it

I try with return to home point agian

No respons .

DJI PHANTOM 4 is disconnected

I trust DJI PHANTOM 4 technics and trust that the Drone will return on it self , when it gets disconnected.

I go and check the flight records , now when I realize that my Drone is gone.

I go with car 5 km to the spot where it was on the map, I put alltitud and latitud on my mobile phone.

I go in to the forrest , a 5 min walk in 40-50 cm of snow

The forrest is all white - and so is my Drone

Cant find it... sorry I been looking for hours in the snow.... I cant just find it

I have to wait for the spring to come to find it

Its just little bit sad.... since I going to Florida in February the 9th 2018

I cant bring my Drone , since its lost in the forrest

Now I pray for the vinter to end , so I can go in to the forrest and find my loving DJI PHANTHOM 4

Hello , this is my second DJI Phantom 4

My first 1 , did crash in to an antena 100 meters up in the air

My guess was accurate.
You flew up at 500 metres, where the wind is much stronger than on the ground.
You flew away with the wind behind your Phantom.
This means the Phantom will have to fight a headwind to get home.
The wind was stronger than the 10 metres/sec speed of RTH.
When it was trying to RTH up at 500m, it was going backwards at 6 m/s.
You left the Phantom 500m up and never tried to bring it down where it could have had a chance.

As it was autolanding due to low battery, you can see the speed changing as the wind decreases at lower levels.
Below 200 metres, the Phantom starts to get closer to home.  Above that the high winds kept blowing it further away.

The data ends when you lost signal with the Phantom 3.5 km away and still 186 metres up.
The GPS location to start searching is
59.89494
15.46065

For anyone wanting to prevent this happening to their Phantom ....
1. RTH will initiate 3 seconds after loss of control signal
RTH will never descend until right above the home point. If your Phantom is higher, it will come home at the higher altitude.
Wind speed is always significantly higher at altitude than ground level. There are ways to get a feel for this to avoid losing your drone.
2. RTH is a slow driver. It cruises at 22 mph but you can drive at 36 mph (still air speeds).
If the Phantom is trying to push against a wind stronger than 22 mph, it's going to be blown backwards until battery level triggers autolanding

It's very important to be aware of wind strength and direction.
Note how much the wind slows your Phantom if you try to fly directly into it.
Never fly away downwind in a strong wind situation - you will have a tough headwind to fight to get back home.
Never leave your Phantom up high fighting a headwind. Bring it down where the wind is less.

Sadly this is not the first instance recently where people have lost there drones due to high winds at altitude. I feel for your loss but it’s gotta be put down to pilot error.  I hope you find your drone.

Your anser was accurate from the first time

But , enyway

I was trying to get it down , but it was disconnected and in the hands of " Return to homepoint " incase of disconnecting from the app and Drone

Nothing mutch .. I could do

NOW I HOPE I WILL FIND IT IN THE END OF MARS , when the snow melts

Its my second drone now that get destroyd because of the homepoint not working as it should

One thing I do to test the wind speed at altitude is fly upwind for a short while,  when the drone is hovering put it into ATTI mode and measure the speed that the drone attains without any input, this will give you a general wind speed at that altitude. If it’s greater than the RTH speed I would be vary wary of flying downwind at that altitude.
Another tip is to always try fly upwind then if RTH is initiated it does not have to fight the wind to get back.

Labroides has given a good explanation and a rough idea as to where it is, perhaps it might be prudent to go back and get it as the drones location has been posted in a public forum, its mostly always windier the higher you climb, as sid above, if your RTH is set at 100m high but you are flying at 500m high, it will not descend to 100m, it will try to rth at your 500m, if you was at 60m, it will always climb to up the rth height but never descend to the height if you are higher than it..

Good luck in finding it, hope you do!

The homepoint was recorded properly and RTH tried to work but the wind up at 500 metres was so strong that the Phantom was being blown backwards at 6 m/s while trying to RTH.
Everything on the Phantom worked properly and as it is designed.

Now I will wait for the spring to come , since its to mutch snow at the location and you cant walk there and my Drone is al White ...lol enyway. Im not sad , i did learn a lesson.

I will find it... I hope the Drone will survive 2 months in snow outside in minus 10 celcius ,some days and lower temp, other days.

Enyway , a good ide´would be if every Drone came with its own GPS CHIP with a phonenumber , so you could search for the drones exakt location att eny time , like MiniFinder Zepto GPS tracker.

That would be good , so if your drone get lost , you would find it easy by , mayby find it on your DJI GO APP . And the track it , step by step , until you get to the right altitude and latitude. Pip pip pip then piiiiiip when you are exakt at the Drone spot.

Now I belive , " find your Drone " in the DJI GO APP only works when the Drone batteri is still working ??

Do you know ?
