Aside from the battery care and pre-flight checks, is there anything else we should be doing for our phantom's? I find it hard to believe the motors don't need any oiling or anything?

Just blow them out so to clear any dust - dont oil them as this will 'hold' dust and crap.

Store your battery at approx 50% charge.  Never leave it fully discharged  or charged all the way up either.  Both conditions "stress" the battery.   Also... If you want to extend the number of charge cycles in your battery never run it below 20% or charge it above about 90%.  If you do that you can get 2X-4X more charge cycles out of a battery.  (Although it reduces flight time accordingly.)

As for motors.  Do NOT oil them.  The bearings are sealed ball bearings.  They can't really be oiled anyways because they have rubber seals that keep the original lubrication sealed inside.  Getting oil on the motor will only attract grit dust and gunk that will destroy the motors.  Oil is also NOT good for the plastics used in the winding insulation either.  The motors in a DJI are brushless and will last a very very long time.

Keep the lens clean.  Make sure your props are not nicked & dented.  (Replace them if needed.)  Even small nicks in the leading edge of a prop can cause severe vibration that will damage motor bearings.

That's about it.  Not much else to maintain really.

Actually...  The DJI "Smart" battery will automatically self discharge to about 50% after a few days.  (It may be an adjustable delay.)  So as long as you have more than a 50% charge when you store the battery the battery management computer should discharge it to the correct level for storage.

But not allowing the battery to drain below about 20% is good practice to prevent premature cell aging.  I also pull the charger before it reaches 100%  I think you can do this and still get a good 15 minutes of flying time.
