I've never done any video editing before, so this is a new area for me. The small amount of video shoots that i've done before have always had their own audio. As i've entered into the world of drone video, i've come to the need for music tracks to add to the video. This leads me to the question:
What do you use to edit video, and where do you get your music to lay under the videos? I've seen a few things, but what are your suggestions?

I've used from tracks from this channel

And you tube has a library free music.

There is a lot to find out there, paid and free.
I personally like to 'make' my own tracks.
Not the best there is, but it is good enough for me.
so i've done a little of my own track creation, (in a past life, i was a DJ, so that's easy enough)
but to be honest, i didn't want to go down that road again. I tend to get lost in the music when i'm creating.

Oh yes, I know.
Takes a lot of time
But it is worth it and I learned to be satisfied when it is good enough.
Keeping the time spend reasonable
I use the same app I use for my gopro videos. The quik app. I seem to be reaching the limits of its editing capabilities though, but its just so convenient to edit them on the go on my phone.
I'm editing my drone footage for my YouTube channel using Lightworks free edition and I took some song from The Artist Union. You can download Lightworks from here
I normally just do a YouTube search for royalty free music and search around until I find a tune that I like. Usually leads to a download off of SoundCloud. All free, and most require you mention their name, song title in the little description you post with your YouTube clip.
I am learning to edit using premiere pro. It is very capable software. I don’t find it too hard to learn. But I wish I could edit more regularly and build up my skills faster.
Because I can't play a note, you will wonder at my cheek for commenting, but I know what works and what doesn't.
Most vids are spoilt by the poor choice of music. Thank God for the mute button.
There is a means of lowering the music to a background level, where it normally should be. Most viewers want to see the vid and have it enhanced by the right mood music, something unobtrusive and subtle.
I tried using natural ambient sounds like sea bird song and waves for a shore and rocks vid. As popular as a pork pie in a synagogue. So be warned.
I did seek the composers permission on a great piano piece and he was delighted to grant me free use with credits. Just a thought.
Good luck with the YouTube sources.

There're tons of royalty free on Spotify and you just need to use the TunesKit Spotify Music Converter to get them offline on your computer and then you can feel free to add them to your timeline.
For me, I use the DRmare Spotify Music Converter to get music at free for using on my video clips. This way is available for you to use the music by yourself only.
I use Spotify and AudKit Spotify Music Converter. The converter helps me to download music from Spotify to MP3 for free. So that it is easy to import the MP3 music files to video for editing.

I've downloaded Spotify music tracks with the help of Tunelf Spotibeat Music Converter, and it works well. The conversion speed is so fast that I don't need to spend too much time on it. What's more, once converted the Spotify music tracks, you can keep the tracks forever and you can move them to any device at ease.
That's really really helpful! I've been perplexed about where I can find the music to add to my video. And I used to download Spotify music using the AudFun Spotify Music Converter which can download multiple Spotify songs offline and use them on videos. It helped me a lot. But I also miss more choices of different music.
