are People are really thinking of returning their drone because they're "Cinematographers" and don't shoot in anything but C4K... LMAO... If you really need to your 16:9 to match C4K because everything else is shot in C4K just upscale your 16:9 footage by 6.7%
Literally no one is going to tell the difference between C4K and 16:9 blown up by 6.7% to match the timeline. This sounds like blaming other things for being bad at storytelling. Especially when the difference between looking at a Mavic pro and Mavic 2 pro is night and day in optical sharpness.
@Maverick
Upscaling do show, more or less depending on the scene and the other cameras you might need to match footage to.
If you upscale M2P Pro to a 4KC timeline matching 4KC video from a low quality camera with cheap lenses - you probably won't see much difference (but some). On the other hand, if you upscale M2P Pro to a 4KC timeline matching 4KC video from a high quality camera with good lenses, it will show more clearly the difference.
The question is if the customer can accept it or not, and that can vary.
What a new M2P owner feels about their new drone also depends on what he/her mainly shoot with the drone. Are you a hobbyist that upgrade from the old Mavic - sure, M2P is a huge step forward. Are you an Inspire user that want a M2P for filming from difficult areas where its small size makes it easy to carry with you, it might feel the M2P is not as good as it could have been.
The Mavic 2 Pro is not a "real" pro camera. You can't compare it to X5S or X7 or Alexas, but it is good for its price. But, the lack of 4KC is a step backwards. 4KC have been a standard on DJI drones for many years, until now. So with 4KC added, it would have been a better drone.
You should not try to judge users - we all use our drone for different things, and we might have different needs than you. |
