Folks, I was using this prop guard indoors.
My point was that at my elevation, and with this aftermarket prop cage, my Mini went into an uncontrollable spin immediately upon lifting off. This was in my office at work.
I set it back down, took that cage off, set it aside, and haven't tried it since then. It is a bit heavier than the prop guards that came with the fly more combo, and I figure it just puts things over the top as far as what this drone can handle at 5150 feet elevation.
The lighter prop guards that came in the fly more kit do work, but also make the poor drone work very hard. There's not much margin of lift with them in place, either.
My point mentioning this is to point out that spinning of the aircraft can be caused by one or more of its prop motors reaching its maximum power such that orientation can no longer be maintained.
This could be caused by payload, elevation, wind, or a bad prop, such that a motor is maxed out.
High elevation flying is informative. |
