...Mavic mini and Mavic Air 2

Hi,

The Mavic mini and the DJI mini 2 are perfect to begin in the       steering of a UAV.
However, the DJI Fly application still lacks an extension for       dual-control use.

A second DJI Fly application used by an instructor would be       connected to the learner's application via a wireless link (for       example bluetooth or wifi).

The trainer would have a second remote control to instantly take       over the UAV's flight controls.
As soon as the instructor's radio control handles are in neutral,       the trainee can regain control.
Another advantage of this extension would be that the trainer who       is used to the Mode 1 stick set-up would be able to train a       trainee who has chosen a Mode 2 set-up.

This extension of the DJI Fly application would also meet the       requirements of the regulations that stipulate that a second       person must be able to take control when the pilot is flying in       FPS or tracking mode while moving around.

As soon as these applications become available, a Mavic Air 2 and       a DJI Mini 2 will be acquired by many families to train young       beginners in UAV flying:
       - in safety, thanks to the trainer's ability to regain control       instantaneously
       - and by limiting noise pollution. This will make it easier to       find an evolutionary ground.

       What are your opinions?

       Good flights,

Sounds like a great option, can it be done with firmware?

Seems like a solution to a Robles that doesn’t exist to me! I’ve flown RC planes, helicopters and quads for decades as well as cars and boats. The Mini 2 is the easiest RC vehicle I’ve ever seen. All you have to do is take your fingers off the sticks and the drone stops in place and hovers while you think through what to do next or regain control. It flies so slow and predictably and you can always “hands off and hover” so I odon’t really see the point of dual control. Flying RC helis and planes I’ve used dual control to teach but both of these aircraft are much more difficult and taking hands off the sticks results in expensive and dangerous crashes.

Just my opinion based on years of teaching RC.

It’s a good day to fly,
Michael
