I was looking at the list of compatible Canon lenses and noticed that they are all zoom lenses, with the exception of the 35 and 85mm lenses. I am looking to buy a Canon 50mm 1.8 STM lens, but cannot tell if it will be compatible with either the autofocus or focusing with the gimbal wheel.

short solution for all lenses without hard stop

So I am assuming then that the only way for that lens to work is with the focus motor, and that I need to use a zip tie so it does not turn forever. Or, does the lens, which is auto focus, work with just the wheel on the gimbal?
