I am ready to make the jump to a smart controller for my mini 2 but just wondering if I should now or will a new one be coming out soon?

And actually thinking about the air 2s combo with the smart controller also but not sure if I should wait just in case a new one gets announced.

A new Smart controller is being released with the Mavic Pro 3, so should be available soon!

Will DJI for sure sell that separately?

It looks like it it out already but DJI says it only works for the mavic 3 series and the original smart controller doesn’t work at all with the new M3’s

Anyone on here from DJI that could possibly let us know if and when the new controller will work with the other models?

DJI Said in the forum that support for more drones was coming,  but they didnt say which ones or when.

That is what they said for the original SC, and it took 2 years to incorporate the full OS2 fleet. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for DJI to expand the new SC to older models, especially OS2 drones.

Ive got an eye out for a second hand SC but I suspect as you say until the new one support the older stuff not many will pop up.

So the new DJI RC Pro (basically new version of Smart Controller) is available for preorder but it's not going to be compatible with the 2S at launch (only the Mavic 3). This is extremely frustrating. I purchased a used Smart Controller (v1) and the range is awful compared to the stock controller for the 2S. On the stock controller I can fly out at least 15,000 feet distance with the 2S and still get clean video feed. With the v1 smart controller I am losing signal at a drastic rate starting at 4,000-5,000 feet. It is a massive difference. I live in the mountains of Colorado btw. I am really hoping I can sell my v1 smart controller and get the new RC Pro hoping that the range is better with my 2S. But now DJI is saying it won't be compatible right away with the 2S - which already uses O3! Unreal!!!
