I couldn't believe it – now that I've seen it myself. I could have saved myself the SC... No idea how far you can go with the RC, with the SC it is 1000 m and not a meter further. I am disappointed with the SC. Poor performance, DJI. A much more expensive device should at least do the same as a standard device. Now I have again two RCs while traveling... Or am I doing something wrong?

I had the old unit before i switched to smart controller on my ED2 Dual. I could almost go 9000 meter, today it start to blink after 1000 meter over open water. The signals are weak and poor..

It used to have way better range and then they updated the SC firmware and now its pathetic.

Well then there is still hope. On the other hand, older devices are not given special attention by DJI.

A few months ago, I performed a range check flight over land at about 100m AGL.

• M2P: After reaching 6’000m I returned even though the signal was still ok
• Mini2: After reaching 2’500m I returned even though the signal was still ok
• All devices have the current FW

Why the distance with my MA2 is so poor ?
I have Smooth, Dual Band, Channel - Auto, the green line is under 4 km (more than 4 km), new firmware. All the same as on the RC ??

Yes there is always hope. Just unfortunate as the SC is such a great upgrade over the standard remotes.
