Tried to upgrade to the 1.3.20 firmware and it failed.  It said firmware on the card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the aircraft.   I have done all the other upgrades with no problems since owning the phantom 3 .  I deleted the v1.2.6 on the card before trying to save the new on the sd card.  Since it failed, there is a loud beeping sound from the drone now , when I power it up and now it won't communicate with my app on the ipad.  Tried to install the v 1.2.6 back on the card, but it won't install and changes nothing.  Dji chat was totally worthless.  They have no answers.

Have you tried formatting your SD card and downloading the firmware again?

Even if there was no firmware on the card, wouldn't the drone have it stored ?  Something got really messed up on the failed upgrade.

Google how to format since I don't know if your Mac or PC.  Download firmware again and make sure you place the .bin file in the root directory of the SD and try again.

I haven't look at the notes yet but make sure you format to the proper type.  All the cards in the past should be formatted FAT.

I just formatted the card and I pasted the upgrade to the sd card like always before.  The drone makes a loud BEEP Beep  continuously like before.  No red and green light flashing, nothing except the beeping.  When I first tried to install the firmware, the drone beeped and lights flashed red and green.  Then the lights stopped flashing and the 4 beep series kept going.  Then it said the firm ware on the card is identical to or older than the current firmware.   After that happened it only does the loud beeps whether the card is empty or trying to install new firmware.

hile, then I printed what it said.

I'm having the same issue. Reformatted card nothing. No beeps. Gimbal is flashing red and green but it's been doing it for an hour. Camera just points down.

I open card on mac reformatted. Card in blank download update from dji open folder move the .bin file to desktop. Open SD card drag .bin file over its on the card. Put card into P3pro turn on beeps like I'm going to fly. Back light flash yellow like looking for remote front lights red.  No other beeps camera faces down. Gimble lights flashes green fast for about 11 sec and for about 3min then op1 flash red 1 green and so on for a 1 min then back green flashes. Tried two different computers and ad cards.

My sd card is now empty.  I copied dji's upgrade and pasted it to the sd card.  When I click on the sd card, it shows the firmware version only.  Nothing else on this original sd card

Ok, did you extract only the bin file  from the zip file you downloaded from DJI website and put that on your SDCard?

I just remembered that I had a second sd card with pictures on and the 1.2.6 firmware on, and I put it into the camera and turned on the drone and no beeping.  I then turned on the transmitter and ipad, and it is working on the previous software version.   I will work with it tomorrow.  Can't understand why the original sd with the same firmware won't work and just beeps.

I've been following you guys hoping you would find the answer while trying to figure it out myself.  My story is I just formatted the card and I put the upgrade bin file in.   It seemed to be doing it and after when I checked the chip the result said 'sucess' although it did have those weird notices that saying all kinds of things with random 2014 dates and  it said the firm ware on the card is identical to or older than the current firmware.  Then I updated the RC with my device and it was successful.  Then I turned it all on and the drone makes a loud BEEP Beep  continuously.  No lights, the camera comes up and then hangs, nothing except the beeping.  Then I got a message on the app that said the camera needed updating.  Ahhhh!  I've tried several times now and worry I'm making a more of a mess of it.

It doesn't say anything. When I open the card after a 1:15 min it just shows the update software.  So fustrated

I have the exact same problem with the aircraft claiming it already has the same firmware installed or the "new" one is older than on the aircraft.

My procedure was as always: download update, unzip, place the .bin in the root on memory card, put in aircraft with full battery, and start aircraft.

After the initial green and yellow flashes during a couple of seconds the aircraft continuously do the four beep sound and red leds glowing. Checking the text file gives:
Result: Success.

I have no clue on what to try next! Tested with different sd cards and downloaded update a couple of times. Nothing. I don't dare to update remote control until aircraft is updated.

Anyone with some thoughts?

Mine had the problem suddenly with 1.26
tryed diff. cards formated FAT32 and EXfat and so on nothing helped.
The shop replaced the entire camera and card reader with a new one and that fixed it.

loriwatts: same problema here. After trying to upgrade (red - yellow - green and 4x beep) leds went green and I powered it down. Battery linked red for a while and finally shut down. Checked log and got same errors about older firmware. Tried to power on, with newly formatted SD card, and the only thing was an annoying and loud BEEP for about 10min or so. After that it beeped once and started firmware upgrade. At least I think it started, since the only thing I hear is Beep -- Beep Beep (like a scatched disk) and yellow flashing lights. Have to wait now to see what happens. It has passed over 20min...will wait for more 5min and shut it down.
Upgrade on RC went fine the first time!

Update: checked yellow flashing...was waiting for RC.
