Hi all.  Looking to buy some lenses and wanted to know the payload of our 4D when not using the Z-Axis. Seems 2000 grams is the total including gimbal when using the Z-Axis, but can not seem to see anywhere the supported payload without the Z-Axis engaged.

@DJI please help out with this.  Thank you.

Hello, there. Sorry for the inconvenience. Since the DJI Ronin 4D is designed to be used with the Z-Axis, only reference parameters when used with the Z-Axis are provided regarding Zenmuse X9 payloads, and the payload ranges when DJI Ronin 4D is only used with the tilt axis, roll axis, and pan axis are not provided.
Moreover, due to the limited lens installation space and counterweight installation space of the Zenmuse X9 gimbal camera, lenses exceeding a certain volume and weight will not be installed or balanced. Therefore, we recommend that users only refer to the DJI Ronin 4D Lens Compatibility List for usage.

Hi there.  Thank you very much for your reply.

In this case, what is the payload when using the gimbal with the DJI 4D Flex system please?

Thank you so much.

Hi, we come back with the answer. The payload of the gimbal is approximately less than 1.5kg, which is the same as when using DJI Ronin 4D without the DJI Ronin 4D Flex system.

Hi there, thank you. I received a different answer from your support team who stated 2KG.

DJI Publishes that the max payload is 2000grams including the gimbal.

It would be great if it could be the gimbal + 1500 grams, that would be very useful indeed.

Hi there.  Still trying to get to the bottom of this. Is there someone from the technical team who can give a clear answer please.

The website states clearly that the z-axis has a payload of only 2000 grams.  I am told that is the same payload for the gimbal its self.  The numbers do not make sense in this case.  Please see below as to why.

Here are the weights of the equipment in grams when using the Leitz M 0.8 Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH lens (which is on the list of compatible lenses).

Gimbal 1040
Counterweight 294
Focus motor 110
Lidar focus 88
Leitz Lens  835

That is a total of 2367 grams.  The website table shows that the Z-axis can not be used when this lens is attached - inferring that the gimbal definitely has a higher payload than the z-axis itself.

That is contradictory to the payload of 2000 grams as published on the website and well about the 1500grams that you have stated.

Please can we have someone to clarify and give the actual payload of the gimbal without the z-azis

Sorry for the late response. We apologize for the inconvenience. There is some redundancy in the range for the “maximum Z-Axis payload”. If the lens you mentioned is on the “DJI Ronin 4D Lens Compatibility Search” list, then the lens has passed the lens compatibility test. Please feel free to use your product. During usage, please follow the instructions on the “DJI Ronin 4D Lens Compatibility Search” list and balance the Z-Axis before use.
