Trying to find exactly to enable HDR footage.

In the Sepcs, it says HDR is automatically enabled under the conditions of 4k/30p (etc) whether EIS is turned on or not and under 4K/60 when EIS is turned off.

I have tried with and without D-LOG M (for 10-bit).  No matter what mode, not only do I not visually see any HDR footage, but the files themselves all show only Rec.709 not Rec.2020 or Rec.2100.

What am I doing wrong?

It's not a setting, it gets enabled automatically in certain modes - refer to this reply for details: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... 201&pid=3296398

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. If the following shooting specifications are used for video recording, DJI Avata 2 enables the HDR mode by default:

With EIS disabled:
Aspect ratio: 16:9; recording at 4K/2.7K/1080p@60/50/30fps
Aspect ratio: 4:3; recording at 4K/2.7K/1080p@30fps

With EIS set to RockSteady or HorizonSteady:
Aspect ratio: 16:9; recording at 4K/2.7K/1080p@30fps
Aspect ratio: 4:3; recording at 4K/2.7K/1080p@30fps

True, but I did all these exact scenarios and when I examine the details of the recorded videos, they are all recorded in rec.709, not rec.2020 or rec.2100

Thank you for patiently waiting. DJI AVATA 2 uses DCG HDR technology, which is different from standard HDR (stack technology). DCG HDR is an HDR technology for CMOS, which can capture details in dark parts without losing details in highlights, thus generating multi-exposure fusion video. This video has a higher dynamic range compared with ordinary video, but the generated file is not standard HDR footage. So after being imported into the color correction software, there are no obviously visual differences between the HDR video of DJI Mini 3 Pro and a high frame rate video with the same specification. You can adjust the exposure curve to see the differences in the dark part details. Hope this helps.
