Hi all,

I've been flying i1s for about 6 months, but recently installed the x5. It was all working fine on v1.0.0.30 until I attempted to update the firmare this morning.

Powered it up for the first time in about 3 weeks, to be told the RC needed a new firmware upgrade as did the x5. The RC was done via the app and was successful, it was still saying the x5 needed upgrade so I downloaded v1.1.0.40 onto my sd, fired the beast up and heard the 4 beeps - several restarts later I got the 3 beeps.

Checked the sd to find this log.

Result: Failed.
Reboot the aircraft and try to upgrade the firmware again.

(of course I tried to reboot the aircaft, but no luck) Now when I power up the i1 I'm getting constant 'copter warming up', 0% on the battery and total lack of control of the camera functions - help!

Any ideas how I restart the FW uprgade or where I went wrong?

Thanks in advance!

It appears that you had a successful firmware update of both versions. All the following aborts are because the firmware is already updated.

The firmware you are referencing is for the X5 camera and not the Inspire 1.

I don't know why are having an issue.

I would call DJI and ask for tech support. They are pretty sharp and can resolve a lot of issues over the phone.

You might try the Los Angeles office, although I don't know if they are allowed to deal with someone outside the US. They helped me with an issue when I stopped the X5 firmware early and then got high pitched tones that I didn't understand.

Here is the link to the support page. You can select which region of the world you want to contact. http://www.dji.com/support?www=v1

Many thanks Remltr, I'm in the UK so the nearest helpline to me is Switzerland - they're closed now for today, but I'll try them in the morning. Interestingly the DJI Go app is still telling me that the camera requires upgrade. Do you know how you roll it back to the previous version?

Also, I'm also getting an odd message which I've never seen before... 'Tips: Authorise slave controller 9?' any ideas? (I'm operating with a single controller)

A quick update - DJI EU support suggested the Inspire is 'bricked' and wanted it to be sent back to them, however I spoke to Heliguy.com (UK) tech support team - they suggested that I have an old version of the DJI GO app and should check I'm up-to-date. A quick check of my iPad and I had indeed got the old version running (no indication on the app that I needed to update it).

A quick download later and the copter/x5 came good first time.

Hoorah for Heliguy Tech support!

It is always nice when you get to talk to somebody that knows what is going on, isn't it?

To answer your question about going back to the previous firmware which may still be a need if you find the current firmware shoots to noisy or grainy. You can go to http://www.dji.com/product/inspire-1-pro-and-raw/info#downloads and the older firmware is still there. You install it the same way you installed the current firmware.

Hi guys

Having great trouble trying to update the inspire (original) with x5, says it been successful but then in the app its telling me to update craft/camera/batteries, so tried to update it again and doesn't do anything, not log file to says its failed or any beeping noise, just yellow lights.

I just did quick flight test seems fine but it won't allow me to set a home point either, really worrying.

App                   version 2.4.2
Aircraft              version 1.4.00.10+
RC                    version 1.5.70
Camera             version 1.1.0.40

Any help would be much appreciated
Andy

My inspire1 refuses to go into Travel Mode after the update to 1.5.30, so I was wanting to roll it back to 1.4 firmware. Is Travel Mode dependent upon the Vision Positioning System, Patrick? I had that off the ship the other day and may have failed to put it back correctly.

Thank you Patrick, that helps immensely. My problem is with the small 5-wire cable that connects to the VPS. Do you know what is the easiest way for me to purchase a replacement in the US?
