I'm trying to pick a tablet to run my new Phantom 3, and I can't figure out if I need a cable to connect the (Wi-Fi only) iPad mini 2 to the controller? If so, what do I need? Thanks in advance.

If it's an Advanced or Professional, then yes, you need a lightning cable, same as the one used to charge the iPad (but shorter is best).  I believe the P3 Standard uses wifi to connect.
