I happen to live close to a small airport so I thought I would see how RTH handled it in the simulator. I flew around the restricted space and once I was on the other side of the airport restricted zone I hit the RTH. Aircraft headed straight into the restricted airspace and headed to home. Not sure what the real action would be but since I don't really fly near the airport I guess I will never find out. Made a funny screen shot flying over the parked planes

Correct, you can fly in restricted airspace in the simulator.
