Hi this my first time on the forum, recently got P3 standard and love it and already want P4.
I cannot get my Ipad air 2 wifi to work the follow me. Will it work? Or can someone suggest a low cost 7" tablet that will work?

No. Follow Me on the P3 requires the device attached to the RC unit to be equipped with a good GPS receiver, and your Air 2 does not have one. Only the cellular Air 2 is fitted with GPS.

It is possible to work via your cell phone if you hot spot your iPad to the cell phone otherwise as Geebax stated..

NVidia shield K1 is supposed to be great if you like Android, lots of good reviews...and reasonably priced

A Digiland M718 should work also. Bought mine at Best Buy for 40.00 at Christmas time.

it will not work on Phantom 3 or Inspire, but it will work on Phantom 4.

Thanks DJI Tim I would have bought one today, Amazon has them for $40, If I am able to understand the device needs to have gps not just location services. Still looking foe 7" device that is low cost. It would be great for us newbees if DJI would supply a tablet preloaded and dedicated to aircraft. I love the flying but the tech has a learning curve tough on my old brain.

I was able to hotspot phone and I pad together but still got error message GPS too weak. I would really like to try the follow me and would hate to buy another tablet and not have it work!

The GPS in a phone is still not the best solution. A Garmin GPS tethered to your tablet is a better solution, if you can afford it.

One of the tablets on the DJI approved list is the Google Nexus 7 (2013). I use this and it works really well. The WiFi only version has GPS, a good screen, and is a decent tablet in it's own right. You could pick up a second hand one pretty cheap.

Geebax, how does one tether a Garmin GPS to an iPhone? Thank you.

A Garmin Glo will hook up to your Ipad though the Bluetooth.  I just got one yesterday and it works great.
