what if i made a mistake and upgraded the remote first and now i can not exit travel mode? (WM610_FW_V01.08.01.00)

Load the new .bin file on SD card. Set the inspire up on something to raise it high enough so you can attach the camera / gimbal. (4 soup cans or whatever... get creative!)
Turn on Inspire leaving remote off. Bird will update. Problem solved.

i tried to hold it high and connect the gimble with the sd card (with the new firmware)  but it doesnt recognize the camera at all and still keeping the solid blue light without any update noises...
you got another idea?

Yes, I have the same issue. The updater lists the RC first so that's what I did. Any ideas ?

Same issue precisely, Camera not recognised so does not pick up the .bin file.

Why not try and rollback the RC so you are back to the previous version.
Terry lewis is a geinius and he wrote a post on the process. fist link second post. Also read the release notes so you know about the batttery update

Yes, but still the RC cannot communicate with the AC. The RC is now 1.6 and AC is 1.7.
The overall status page just sits and is black and not very helpful

If you rolled back the RC should be at 1.58.   Did the rollback not work ?    WHY WOULD THE ROLLBACK SAY 1.6 IF YOU ROLLED BACK ?

The problem on the weekend  is DJI staff are thin.  I assumed that this was working as I did not see others respond that it was not .  I hate to have you Re- set the RC when there might be a simpler solution to this.  I dont want to dig the hole any deeper ya know ?
what device are you using ?  If it is android there is a new Go  app for it 2.72.  THIS IS ONLY FOR ANDROID THOUGH .

Yep Donnie, it did got to 1.58. then I had to upgrade to 1.6. Still would not recognise the camera with SD card.

I agree, lets see what DJI say tomorrow

Well they said nothing

I have the solution. I was assisted by a DJI Online Chat support Person.

Turn off AC before doing any of this.

1. Downgrade RC to 1.5.8 ( see other forum posts on this)
2. Turn on AC
3. Exit Travel Mode (!) Hooray
4. Turn off  AC
5. Format SD Card (check for DCIM files first)
6. Put 1.8.00 bin file on it
7. Insert SD Card into Camera
8. Turn on AC
9. Let it go until it goes DD-D-D - about 15 mins
10. Restart AC
11. Start RC
12. Upgrade RC to 1.6
13. Change Batteries to Update them individually, until they go DD-D-D ( about 3 minutes)
14. Format SD card after updating batteries.

Brad, when I said to rollback to 1.58 I kind or assumed that you would have tried to exit the travel mode and begin again .  It is sometimes difficult to go in to to much detail because pilots will be like, "well of course I tried that"!!!!   So sorry I did not make it clear.  It is a fine line to walk , be informative and giving to much information

I am really glad you are up and running and gave a brief but very effective solution.

Thanks so much.......  I drove 2 hours away to show some friends and it would NOT exit the travel mode......  I wasted 2 more hours thinking I was doing something wrong........   Only the 4th time flying it......   Your post,   going back to 1.58  totally fixed it........    God Bless you.......   Note - 1.6 kills the drone post,  the update destroyed his......  How can this happen......   Now,  status shows "update firmware"......   When will DJI get a newer update that WORKS??????    Ron
