What did I do wrong?  When updating my firmware I must have screwed up the controller.  It works the gimbal but under aircraft status it says RC Signal Lost.   I tried upgrading the firmware on the controller but then indicator lights never changed...  I did try to re link the aircraft and the controller, but still no connection..  Help!

I'm sorry you are having an issue, if the RC light is green then you do not need to relink. What happened is that there is new security firmware in the update and both the RC and aircraft need to be on the same update.
So you updated the RC first correct and now it says RC signal lost?
You need to update the aircraft in the app or the Assistant2 computer software.

Thanks for the quick response... I updated the aircraft first,  the  Controller second.. the controller never took the upgrade,   so you are saying that I need to update the aircraft in the app,  I assume that is on my iPad, since that is what I am using?   Thanks...

I think you are fine. And I didn't know it was a P3. Yes you still update the P3 with the BIN file.
Is your RC light green or red with everything powered up?
Post a screen shot of the overall status page and the About page.
Do you still have camera controls and you can move the camera with the yaw stick?
I think your aircraft is on 1.8 and we just need your RC to be on 1.6.
It should tell you the RC Requires Update in the overall status.
You need to have internet and go to the home page and you should see a red bar going across the top saying to download the RC firmware.

Sam exact problem with my P3 Professional

Yup, just unpackaged the P3 advanced and updated the firmware and I am now having the same issue.  Never been flown......

Not sure how to attach screen shots...   Do have gimbal control and yaw control over camera.   Controller light is green... so I assume you are correct and I need to update the controller,  tried to do it from the bin file per other tutorials,   can you point me to where I can find 1.6 for the controller?  I will look on the site and let you know if I find the update file.   Thanks for the help!!

There is no way to downgrade rc?

The  TXT file from the controller says that the installations have been successful...    So, is firmware update for the controller different?

I looked on the website,  I cant find anything in the download section that indicates RC only Bin files.  I tried to roll back to the previous version on the controller,  would not load.     I am dead in the water and I need my drone in the  morning,  anything else to try??

Well,   Thanks Ken,  your directions appear to be right on.. even though I am not..    with the controller on and my iPad on,  I could connect directly to the link to download the software,  it downloaded quickly and my RC is now working like a charm....   You are the man...  if you guys cant get yours going,  keep pinging,  it is an easy fix....

Hello everyone, I had the same problem because he had not done was asked the RC upgrade to 1.6.0 but I just upgraded to 1.5.70.
I upgraded IOS and reinstalled DJI GO.
Now you called the update and everything works.

Hi Ken, having the exact same issue. Except I can see and install the upgrade, and the lights indicate it took, but after reboot of RC is says version unknown and asks me to update. I seem to be stuck in an upgrade loop. (Brand new drone)

EDIT: After doing the exact same thing about 20 times in a row, it finally worked. I guess just keep trying guys.

Yes, it will eventually work. If you have video signal and can take off, both the aircraft and RC are on the same firmware.

Yes, in the top center status bar.

I upgraded the AC to v1.8.80 via SD card, but I never got an upgrade for the remote controller. Re-linking works fine, but I assume due to "Version unknown" status of the firmware, I'm not able to upgrade the RC as well.

There's no reason to relink.
In the overall status status it should say that the aircraft and RC needs to be upgraded. The P4 is updated through the app and the P3 Pro/Adv/Inspire is updated with the BIN file on the SD card.
If you've updated one, you should still see in the overall status that the other needs updating. If everything is powered on, and you don't see that and you know both are not updated then move the RC sticks and see if the update required shows up.

I am having the same problem on my Phantom 3 Pro

I apologize for any inconvenience, but I did not find it clear how to fix the problem.

im having the same issue. it is saying RC Signal lost but when i connect it through the app it is still not recognising it. i was out with the drone for a while there and dupgraded the firmware which seemed to do more harm than good.

When i did finally get it past the RC signal lost (once but its back there now) it said camera needs upgrading.

please please please help.
