I routinely fly 3 miles from point of takeoff in a straight line with the pro. I am flying over water though so there is very little interference

I have a P3A and I was able to go close to 2 miles with the windsurfer boosters. Decided to give the Argtek a try. WOW! I went around 18,000 ft over the Mississippi river and still had signal.
Perfect conditions as far as I was concerned. Nice day and no obstructions at all. Got too nervous to go any farther but still had battery left, although I question just how far is enough. You have to make it home! LOL

What is too cool! I also use the wind surfers and I flew he longest distance today at 2 Miles! I get super nervous and I can't get myself to just fly until I lose signal and hope RTH kicks in, so I turn around, put it in A-Mode and haul ass back, lol!

What's the argetech?

I got the exact same distance with a totally different mod, one that you don't have to do any physical changes to the equipment.

The Argtek is a kit that comes with 2-new antenna, 2-new cables the tools to do it. It does require you to take the controller apart though.....but it is not difficult at all. If you look around the kit is around $60 just about everywhere you look. It was a significant boost for my drone. I really haven't pushed it out to see just how far I can go, but I have been 18,000 ft. and still had a good signal. That was over water and no obstacles at all. I am sure it is not going to get those same result if I fly in other areas, but it is definitely a step up from the windsurfer ones. But like you mentioned, those work really great.

Yeah, I saw that mod.  I was declined to use it by the family.

I think it is great they will fly that kind of distance but isn't the FAA regulation that you have to be in line of site of the drone at all times?  I find it hard to believe anyone can see those kind of distances even with assistance.

My concern is by doing things like this we bring on tighter and tighter regulations due to more chance of accidents.  

My Phantom 3 Pro has just returned from Mars. No Mod!

lol, too big a mod to carry around anyway

Loose control signal befor wifi breaks up my range now is so close to 3 miles love it snd dbs mod is not big at all
