Hey guys,

So I just received my new P4, do I need to update anything or fly out of box? Is the software from factory out dated or is the new firmware to buggy?

It will fly right out of box with no update if you like.
Haven't got around to updating mine yet.

Got mine 11th last month.

I don't turn my pc on much.
I was waiting till I stopped hearing about people having trouble with updates, but i think that just might be a small % of people having trouble.

I would have to download some Dji stuff on my pc I bet and I'll think I will wait till next jailbreak comes out for Apple or the next line 6 helix firmware update and I'll kill two or three birds with one stone.

My p4 does great on the firmware out of the box.

Firmware v1.1.301 did not have ( on the surface ) major fixes for issues so you should be OK with stock firmware. The biggest change was to the takeoff logic if the P4 experiences a compass issue ( this should stop it going nuts if after takeoff the compass readings change drastically ). There was also the change to encryption between RC and P4.

It is recommended to keep the firmware and the app up to date.
