Okay so I just got my DBS antenna last night, and tried it today. I went from 200m to maybe 600m? Not nearly what I thought I was going to get but I was also in an aera with strong interference as it kept popping up on the app every 10 seconds. What distances does everybody else get? I mean 600m is cool and all, and super helpful but I was hoping for a little more considering the price for this antenna.

20,470 feet (~6,850 meters), and I barely made it back before it autolanded, so I'm quite done with range tests.  pristine, interference free/people free/tree free site though.

Great vid Jason.  I haven't ventured too far in the nearly year I've had my P3A, but when/if I have need, I'll certainly be ordering the mod.  By the way, for the OP, is there a video somewhere showing the entire installation process?  It sounds like he may have not gotten it quite right, and might help to review the process to see if he skipped something or did something wrong.

I am getting 3 to 4000 meters with a windsurfer antenna and no mods. I also live in Atlanta with hills and tall dense trees.

I wonder if your DBS would do as well in this kind of environment. It appears to be a flat panel and flat panels are great when there are not a lot of trees or buildings in the way. The band is very narrow so the omni directional original antennas may work better.

No I installed it right as I watched 5 videos and took an hour to do it , it could be an issue with 1.6.8 on the standard as I never got far before

If you are getting that range in as you say a high interference area then you are getting a great result
The modifications will not stop the interference that has to be accepted by the equipment but it is improving the how far you get before the interference is too great and subsequently affects the aircrafts operation
Try in an area without interference and you will get much better results
You did not say how high you were flying
Sometimes flying higher will decrease the interference and therefore increase your range
CE spec 500 m at 120 m altitude from home point (note 120m height) in clear line of sight with minimal or no interference

Where do you fly at? My installation looks the exact same but I decided to drill my holes at the bottom of the transmitter. When you lose signal, does it drop out immediately or does it slowly fade away? Mine just immediately drops out which is why I'm assuming it's interference.
