Go to you settings in Dji go app with RC and aircraft on and linked and enable maximum flight distance
If you are able to set it over 500 m you are in FCC if only 500 m or less you are in CE
It is automatically set by your location and region in the gps maps

Side note I am in CE in Australia but have heard (not tried yet) if you are using an iPhone or iPad go into its settings and change your region and time settings while being logged out of Dji go app then sign in it allows FCC in CE areas????

Good luck enjoy your flying

No I did not mean altitude as 500m altitude is set for both CE and FCC
Look for enable maximum flight distance in settings it has a toggle for on off and when on you can set the distance you want
When off the flight distance will be unrestricted and depend on interference etc etc

It works as a geofence to stop your aircraft going past the set (by you ) distance
And if you can set this distance option greater than 500m then you must be in FCC mode area
If only up to 500m you are in a CE mode area

if i enable it then yes mine only goes to 500 but if i leave it disabled then a can go as far as i want.

so whats the point of having it max out at 500 when all i have to do to go farther is turn it off.

also, have you looked in your map and notice that all red circles are gone from "no fly zones" ie. airports

You wanted to know what mode you are in
If you can't set it higher than 500m your in CE mode (a simple way to find out)
It's there as an option so that you can control how far it can go
I.e. You let someone else fly and don't want to be searching for 1000's of meters to find your aircraft when they crash it

I think your wrong on this. I far as I know the limit for that setting is 500M everywhere in the world. And if you want to go further, you turn it off. Nothing to do with CE or FAA. I live in Pa. USA so that's FAA for sure, and my setting max out at 500m. But to the OP, I believe Can. is FAA.

Hi...

If i'm not wrong CE it's a european community mode with the limitation for this part of the globe,i mean it's a GPS signal you receive that's once recognized by drone put it in different mode,CE instead of FCC decision is made by the FW on board, being in canada i suppose you are in FCC modality.
Anyway i've never noticed in the app wich mode you are flying with

Correct, the US is FCC and any CE country will have the limitation. When you power up the aircraft the GPS location determines which mode it will be in.

Good day Ken,
The OP is asking specifically when in Canada are our transmitters in FCC or CE mode.
This is a multiple choice question FCC or CE ?

Secondly is there a way for us users to tell if your in FCC mode or CE mode?

In Canada we can be either so it's important for us to know!

TIA

...

It's 3.5km in CE and 5km in FCC for all aircraft except Standard and 3 4k. Those are 500m CE and 1,000 or 1,200 FCC.
I don't know how to tell which mode it's in.

Thank You Ken! Appreciate you telling it like it is

I've read our Canadian Government regs on the subject and because of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) , vendors are allowed to sell products here that adhere to the FCC regulations.
So I'm going out on a limb and going to say we have FCC mode, as it would be the cheapest option for DJI to get their birds into Canada.

Ken can you tell me where I can put a request in to have DJI update the DJI Go app so that it tells us  what mode we are in. The info. is obviously available in the controller so why not show us...

It's been already requested long ago. Don't know if they will ever add the option or not.

I am in Canada and with the new firmware 1.5.40 with DJI Go app 3.1.23 I no longer get 2.4 or FCC. Drone is losing rc signal at very close range. No option to change to ce or fcc or 2.4 or 5ghz?? Not to happy right now. Bird is grounded till new firmware update I guess??

Easiest way to know for sure ... use Magic Power or Icarus - they have diagnostic built in to tell you exactly what power output you have ...

With respect ... Kens post does not answer OP's question

"It's 3.5km in CE and 5km in FCC for all aircraft except Standard and 3 4k. Those are 500m CE and 1,000 or 1,200 FCC.
I don't know how to tell which mode it's in."

All it does is state the open ground ranges and not countries applicable.

There's probably a list somewhere online ?

This thread is over a year and a half old - and still no definitive answer whether Canada is FCC or CE mode?  How is that possible?
