So we went on a job, the Inspire 1 Pro stopped responding, didn't stop moving and kept flying and flew into a wall and fell a few feet, the gimbal died.

We took it home, opened it up and found that the gimbal was no longer working because the ribbon cable has a split in the side. Can we get a replacement cable for our Zenmuse x5 somewhere because it isn't worth spending £1800 for a new gimbal when it is fine but the cable is ripped slightly.

We know that this is the issue as we did manage to get it working a while by taping it up and doing a test making sure the split cable part was connecting.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are two cables that attach to the gimbal mount. Are you talking about these:

Inspire 1 Gimbal mounting port cables?

No the flat ribbon cables inside and that wraps around the gimbal motors. Like these but for the Inspire 1 Pro Zenmuse x5

Cable is broken a little and is no longer working properly.

I've had last year similar accident, my I1P fall down and gimbal crashed.
I was lucky DJI repaired it under warranty
Did you ask DJI support?

That kind of damage should be addressed by a DJI repair technician in order to keep the warranty in tact. Have you been in contact with them about this issue?

I had a small crash and dji fixed this for a very reasonably price €600 for the whole repair (a snapped leg & new CPU & x5 repair) I think the ribon & new x5 arm was less than €100 but not entirely sure. They also did the repair in under 7 days.
