I just Uploaded the App Software and the aircraft and tried to upgrade the software for the aircraft with no luck.
It will not load after 20 tries and even reformatting the card. Get Steady Tone.

I flew it once this AM with older software then swapped batteries and observed a problem when trying to refly - needed to update.
Noticed software update for BOTH controller and aircraft. The latter had to do at home from the computer and now I have a non-Flying Inspire .
Can see the camera but get an "ESC Status Error."

Did you update the controller before the aircraft?

Along with markaguille's question, what firmware were you on previously and could you verify which firmware you were attempting to put on the aircraft? What SD card are you using and have you tried reformatting the card?

I think you updated the RC before  the aircraft and are locked in travel mode with a  blue light flashing.  What you need to do  (  If this is the case ) is rollback the RC to the previous version you had on there before upodating, get the Aircraft out of travel mode and then update the Aircraft first  followed by the RC transmitter.

Dont try and re link and all that , just rollback the RC transmitter  and get the Aircraft out of travle mode and then start over.

In the future  ALWAYS UPDATE AIRCRAFT FIRST
Before you do anything , is my above assertion correct ?  You updated the RC trasmitter first and are stuck ?  If so follow my advice, my next post will have a small video on how to rollback the RC.

If this is not the case please give more details

Can you go to the About page to see what the versions say.
Also, what firmware were you on before you attempted the aircraft update.
Can you try to reinstall the 1.9 firmware.The latest RC is 1.7.4

There seems to be a lot of people who doing this Ken, maybe DJI could make it clearer, perhaps a sticky thread in big, flashing capitol letters? Or maybe if DJI were to go back to the old way of updating, we would not have this problem?

Sorry responding so late but My issue started when I tried to fly the aircraft after a successful flight. Ultimately I sent the Aircraft for repair due to a bad board! From the repair email -Inspire 1 3510 motor cw and ESC driver board.
Flew great then it wouldn't. Haven't gotten it back yet but its in repair in LA.
Hopefully this is just an anomaly. Not under warranty so a $179 repair.

Lots of second guessing so to make it simple -Inspire 1 3510 motor cw and ESC driver board bad.
Assessment from repair in LA. Hopefully on its way back soon.
Did NOT load anything to make this happen.

Sorry but this line infers that you did load the RC upgrade but NOT the Aircraft.....

I have seen thus 20 times where the RC is updated before the Aircraft, so just assumed you did the same.
