Since Android updated their SW to Version 5 x x the DJI app. don't work anymore, the app stops in the second you start props.
DJI have since dec 2014 promised to fix the app. but nothing happens - the app work on previous versions of Android, but for those who have newer version than V 4 - app. don't work.

What do you currently use with your phantom?  I was hoping to use my Nexus 7 (2012) 5.0.2 but I have a feeling i will have to get another device for my Phantom..  Arriving tomorrow....

Works on my Nexus 7 (2013)  android 5.0.2

Nexus 5 with android 5.0.1, no problem.

I now use Denver with 4.2 Kitkat mine Google Nexus with 5.0.2 Lollipop don't run the app more

These are my findings
This combination works fine
* Android 4.1.2
* DJI-VISION app 1.0.56

This combination does NOT work
* Android 5.0.1
* DJI-VISION app 1.0.56

It isn't only DJI; may Wi-Fi apps have been affected by some changes in Android 5.

As an example, Cisco's Android VPN gateway was totally busted until Android released an update to 5.0.

I'm not saying that DJI can't fix it but it isn't limited to DJI; Google did something in 5 that messed up existing Wi-Fi code; hopefully the break can be fixed in a way that wouldn't break backwards compatibility.

I have the exact same problem (Android 5.0.1 on HTC One M8, DJI-Vision 1.0.56). Before the update it worked great.
Before starting the wifi connection works great but as soon as  i start the propellers the app crashes.

A lot of distributers in europe are sending out the update to android 5 lately. So i guess the number of poeple having this bug will increase fast. Thanks for looking into this DJI
