I recently had to purchase a new R/C for my P3P. (It made the trip from China in 1 day! - Thank you DJI ! )
After Charging and linking the new RC, I saw in the GO App  "firmware is of the latest version" on the aircraft status screen...

In  previous versions of the Go App I would then see the firmware version  for the aircraft, R/C and battery  listed on this screen...

This shows N/A for both the controller and Aircraft firmware version.

Is this a problem? (R/C seems to work fine)
Aircraft seems to work fine (using firmware 1.9.60)

Should I update the firmware on a brand new controller?

Are you able to get internet access on you mobile/tablet when you connect and start up your P3?
Mine will tell me of updates when i check at home with internet from my tablet before i go out and fly.

It will eventually show the versions if you have internet.
If the RC LED is green and you have video then you are fine.

P.S. Can we all take a moment to thank the DJI forum staff... Look at some of the posts they put up with

I can understand being upset about broken equipment or expensive repairs but things get out of hand.
