Just watched this YouTube on how to connect the Mavic controller to a small tablet and thought it would be useful to share.

I'll bet these slots were made specifically for tablets/pads. Lost in the manufacture manual what they were for. With that in mind, I'm glad to see my iPad Mini will fit. I'll bet if they hunt down the designers of the remote they will find out that is exactly what the slots are for.

I remember seeing portrait mode in the Go App in which case suspect it may fit using the same method but I cant say if it will be practical or not as I don't have either.

EPIC! So happy about this. I really wanted to use my iPad with the standard setup without having to buy anything extra.

Thanks to the both of you for replying. I really need a bigger screen with my "old" eyes (I use an iPad Air 2 with my P3A). The Mavic looks amazing and I really want one but will wait to see if the creative people can come up wit a good solution for the iPad Air 2 sized screen.

Excellent. Just so happen to have one of those lying around.

I wonder how well a neck iPad holder would work. I see this one online http://technabob.com/blog/2012/02/12/gopad-ipad-tablet-cradle/ and the only concern I see is it flipping up, if you connect the support bar to your belt I think it would work. This would make the remote nice an light and yet have a 10" feed to your hip. Thoughts...

I've made an attempt to get this to hold onto my iPad Mini and find that it gets just a bit too far into the "I'm-forcing_this-to-the point-of-snapping" territory.  Unlike Jake, I can't get the one side to lever into the slot. I'd be interested in hearing about what aftermarket solutions work well (rather than simply "works-but-kills-usability").  The gopad cradle (above) doesn't look it'd solve the problem of securely gripping the RC.

so only for an iPad mini and not the regular size iPad?
