so i was looking for Case solution form my mavic, didnt want to spend 90+ since i would just stuff the drone in mybackpack since its so portable, I do however do some trips with off road vehicles so didnt want it to get banged up in the truck , so i made this ........................ plukable foam (17$ amazon) heavy duty quality case (home depot >20$) its a perfect solution for me thought id share, also have all my other camera accessories and such

Looks awesome!  Glad you were able to save money--did you see a smaller case available?  Or did you opt for a bigger case for expansion purposes for future accessories?  Either way, smart move.

Looks good and is big enough. Sams club still offers a great hard case with customizable foam for 20 USD - I bought already two of them  ;-)

Not as cool as making one, but my research led me to the below product. For under $50, you get a hard shell case that fits all the extras and essentials.. and it makes the most efficient use of it's size of any case I saw. Really small 11.4x 8.3x 4.3inch and I like that it is a hardshell but has a fabric exterior. It looks like a lap top, not a bomb

its just tall enough for the mavic so it wouldnt fit a phantom, but they might have a bigger one there from what i saw

You must not be paying attention. I can use the single very small hard case with my phone or the fly more bag when taking my motorcycles.

Sorry, but I completely disagree.  I have the Sam's Club case(s) and love it for storing and transporting the Mavic.  For instance, I just flew home for Christmas and used the hard case as my carry-on.  I was just over at my father's and had the case as well.  It's nice to just toss the case in the backseat of the car and not have to worry about it sliding around or piling stuff on it.

Sure, the Mavic's portability is great and I have plenty of camera bags and other packs that I can put it in for a more minimalist approach when approach when I want.  But, having a nice hard case makes a lot of sense as well.  I have everything that I need plus room for more batteries or a GoPro or whatever else I may want to take.  As a double bonus, I was actually able to get my Syma to fit in the bottom layer so I could let my dad and others have fun with a toy drone.
