Hi,

I recently purchased an Osmo original to use on some foreign shoots where the amount of kit I could take was limited.   I really enjoyed using it and got some great footage.

It has since developed a fault which meant I had to retuyrn it.

This gives me the opportunity to replace it with the Osmo+, but I hope to hear from some people who have used both bits of equipment before deciding whether to upgrade to a +, or just to replace my unit with another original Osmo.

It would be great if anyone here has experience with both cameras and can offer me some balanced views on which one to buy.

Thanks in advance,

Darren

If you're satisfied with your original Osmo's performance, I would suggest you stick with it.

Can I ask why you think so.

You dot think the osmo+ is a worthwhile upgrade then?

Have you tried both Vin, or are you agree, the osmo+ has more to offer but would like to hear from people who have first hand experience of using both the origins, and plus models.

I've only used Osmo+. It just seems that Osmo+ is not an other product, but a simple evolution of Osmo. Isn't it ?

Thanks for the reply Vince.

Are you happy with your osmo+?  There seem to be a lot of complaints about focus issues on this site.

I've seen reviews where it took a couple seconds for the osmo+ to focus back or it randomly becomes blurry because another object comes in range.  But  I don't think it has an issue if all you do is wide scenic shots (like in the promo).  But man, seeing faces go randomly blurry once you get near 3' to 5' of a group of people moving around killed it for me since that is the sort of daily shooting I expect my usage will be.
Anyway, been a few weeks since I saw those vids, so perhaps its a software thing that could be fixed in the future perhaps?

Could you shoot at 1080p then render at 720p in post?

How to do it in post production I know. The question was in another - Why Osmo + does not support the resolution 1280x720 with video recording?
