I've tried 3 different players( including VLC) with no luck playing the video I took using the inspire. any suggestions?

VLC is working for me on PC.

mac or pc? if you are on a mac, download the free trial of final cut pro.

Is your video In 4K format?

using PC windows 7 ultimate/ 8 enterprise

Give this a shot. Put your SD Card in your Card Reader. Connect it to your Computer. The Card Reader will open up and ask what program you want to uses to play the contents of the SD Card Close that. You should see an Icon on your Desktop for your connected Card Reader. Double click on the Icon for the reader and it will open. You should see a Folder "DCIM" double click on that and it will open with all the Photos and Videos with the date of the media was recorded. Double click on the one that you want to play. I use a Mac. If you want to do some post on it just drag the file that you want to use into iMovie or Final Cut Pro and have at it. Let me know if it works out for you?
