Dont forget there may well be dirt inside too, especially in the motors which are exposed to the elements. Carefully check them as well

Yup. I have an air compressor so I can gently blow away any crud.

Thanks for your advice.

I had a friend do the same thing, but the next day his gimbal and camera were all screwed up. Took it all apart and found nothing.......finally saw some arcing marks on one of the ribbon cables from the moisture sitting in the receiver of the ribbon cable. Luckily he never fried any components! Blew everything out and reseated the cables and was good as new. Nothing like what you are showing though.
Not tying to tell you what to do, but be careful blowing into the shell. I have completely rebuilt 3 of these phantoms and had everything completely out of these drones including the camera, (shell replacements and camera yaw arm and other repairs repairs) and I'm just saying that the main board inside is totally unprotected from anything. It is sitting in there on 4- standoffs  and the terminals are wide open to the atmosphere. Just be careful is all I'm saying. Good luck!

Thanks RicardoGray.   Yep I will be careful.   Foggy conditions are what I get a lot up here in spring and autumn.  Living in the mountains where I do it also means getting some great shots.

DJI build robust drones.  I certainly won't be blaming DJI like a lot of newbie squealers when things don't go right.

This does show that the air vortex created by the props is not perfect with protecting the aircraft from dense fog, clouds etc.

Or the dense pilot who flies in such conditions

When I sometimes fly in the smog in China, I am curious how come my drone comes back clean ...

On other occasions, when I fly outside of China, I have my propellers full of stains from insects ...

I suppose it is a good way to see that there are much less insects in China than in other countries ...

I have gotten some moisture, but only minimal dirt. I also don't fly at the altitudes you do. I guess that shows the crud in the clouds. Cool pics!

No crud in the clouds but at landing spot dust blew up into the mist and contacted my also slightly damp drone from flying in the fog.
