Third time out today, perfect conditions, perfect footage and stills but half way through my flights and immediately on landing, I get a message in the vein of 'gimbal overload warning, check clamp not in place'.

I'd just landed after a five minute flight over water at about 100ft.

I turned it off and on and took it out again and it was absolutely fine.

I read recently that some poor guy was having a nightmare with a return as he had the same error.
I believe DJI wouldn't honour his warranty as they claimed it was user error in not removing the clamp before calibration, which he swear wasn't in place.

Anyone else had this?

Thanks.

If you have the same issue again, open a case with DJI. As far as I know DJI warranty claims are not bad. You might have better luck

I don't think that matters. You will still have DJI warranty. I ordered my P3S from walmart and got it covered under DJI warranty when it had an issue.

I'm confident it does matter, I'm afraid.

I ordered from DigitalRev in China as i'd been waiting three months for an order via a UK source.

I'm not concerned with the warranty, DigitalRev have been superb to date, but I' be interested for some opinion on the issue.

Could you please follow the video tutorial to check your gimbal again?

Please make sure you had removed all the stickers on the gimbal.

Hi Mindy  yes, all is fine.

Perhaps just a glitch?

Is the firmware up to date?
Please try to do the IMU calibration on a complete flat surface then do the gimbal calibration.
Please test more to see if the error message will shows up again.

I had a similar occurrence today, but it was while the gimbal was initializing before starting the motors.  I found that because the camera was hanging so close to the ground and the grass a bit thick, the gimbal couldn't move freely.  I re-set the camera to be in a free area for the gimble to initialize and never saw the error again.  Probably not the same scenario as the OP, but in my case, it was something likely preventing the free movement of the camera while the gimbal was initializing.....

I was out again Sunday, albeit only for fifteen minutes.

All was as usual; incredible
