If I fly without a device (tablet, phone), will the phantom know if it is in a No Fly Zone?  No, I am not trying to break the law. We all need to be responsible. I do want to know if geo-fencing and NFZ is dependent on an attached device. Or, are the coordinates of all known NFZ stored on the drone itself?

When you power up the aircraft it will know it's in a NFZ.

The NFZ map is encoded in the firmware, so the device, or software you use with your RC has nothing to do with it. By the way, I wonder when the first custom, 3rd party firmware for DJI products will be launched. We have it for routers, so why not for drones?
