Is it normal for the camera to get warm, even hot?  Just wondering

Yes, it is quite normal, it stays cool though when it is in the air due to the propwash.

It depends on what you are filming... babes at the beach? :-)

  I'll have to do this test too....

Like previously mentioned, it can get pretty warm when it's just sitting, idle. It wil be much cooler when it's up in the air.
