Having recently acquired a mavic pro platinum,
i took it out for its first flight yesterday
the image i took are with the seethrough gimble cover,
still on it,
i understand you can take photos and videos, with it,still in place, the next lot i intend to do without the cover inplace what you can see is how dry everything is

Nice shots. But keep in mind the gimbal cover limits the amount of air that is let in to the Mavic's cooling fan. All in all the cover won't protect the gimbal too much if you were to crash anyway. But congratulations on your Mavic Pro Platinum, happy flying!

Nice area, nice job, looks like the area could use a little rain, here in central New York State we are in the middle of a drought. You can fly with the lens cover but I would take it off. Also you should get some nd- filters. On a sunny day use Nd-8 , will give your pictures and videos a more professional look..

They slide right over the lens, I’ve never had any issues, that little gimbal is tougher than it looks. I flew backwards into a tree top at 65 feet in the air, the mavic props were spinning full throttle as it tumbled to the ground trimming the tree branches and leaves on its way. Took about a half hour to find it, cleaned off the mud, put on all new props and it’s been flying great for over a year since the crash. As far as the Nd filters go, I usually use the Nd-8 unless it’s cloudy then use Nd-4..

Now is a good time to look out for archaeological features buried underground. The vegatation has a different nutrient takeup when stressed by drought and you could become famous if you discover something.
