Hi.

I am in the market for a new Monopod/Tripod. And I hate having to keep changing plates and I want to keep using the plate that came with the Ronin-S.

I know that the DJI plate doesnt work with most manfrotto stuff, but is there any that work so I do not have to change plates?

From what I have read the manfrotto MVH500ah fluid head Is the only one that will except the Dji along plate.

Hi there, the Ronin-S Camera Mounting Plate is compatible with Manfrotto 501PL type. You can simply dismount the camera setup from Ronin-S, then mount it onto a compatible tripod or fluid head system.

Does anyone have any recommendations on Monopods/Tripods that would work?

Buy a Manfrotto Quick Release 323 and install it over the Ronin S Plate. With this setup you don't need to rebalance the Ronin S every time you take the camera off.

With this QR, you can buy any tripod on the market with the 323 Quick Release or but another 323 QR for any tripod on the market.

In my case I could save lots of money buying a  lightweight Carbon Fiber Tripod with Arca Swiss QR and I installed the 323 over it, but I can take the old QR and put the 323 on the Ball head and  now I can switch between the Tripod and Ronin S without need to recalibrate again and it's incredible fast.

BTW, I bought the Original Manfrotto 323 for the Ronin S and a generic 323  for the tripod. The generic cost 4 times less and the quality looks the same! Both have the same grip.

How is that mounted to the Ronin 501 plate?

I adapted an Arca-swiss Plate to the Ronin Baseplate: https://konkludenz.de/en/adapting-the-dji-ronin-s-to-arca-swiss/

Thank you very much. that was a perfect tip!
I can avoid recalibration when moving from gimbal to tripod.

Damn it ! that was my plan as I already have multiple 323 to go on my Befree tripod but the base plate when you purchase the Ronin SC 2 dont allows it. I guess I ll have to by an extra plate ?

This did a pretty good job of taking care of a lot of problems of manfrotto plate that I had ....including how to mount the 3dFocus module under the lens
