I purchased a new X5 Pro and I cannot get the update to take. I download to the SD card, actually tried 3 of them and nothing happens when I put in in the Camera. I am familiar with how they update being I have the X3 since it first came out. Any ideas? its only a week old. I tried 1.8 and now the new 1.9

Hi bhumme, I have the x5 pro also started with the x3, I always upgrade the bird  first then Rc .
what I have done is download file... save the file then drag to the card then insert in  the camera and then you know   the rest the DDD Song and dance then the RC .

I feel your pain brother I'm holding out for the 1.9 firmware upgrade for now.
I even put a new x3 camera on my x5 pro and will not upgrade the x3 camera though it works fine.
I know I should not say if it works don't fix it!

yes I am familiar with the update and the bird first but the problem is nothing happens on the bird when you put the sd card in, works on the x3 not the x5 pro. I might try to swap cameras and see what happens.

So it sounds like you know how to do things but, I wanted to ask ... did you open the WM610_FW_V01.09.01.10.zip file and only copy the WM610_FW_V01.09.01.10.bin onto the SD chip?  Sometime we get in a hurry and forget to remove the .bin file,,,,,  The Inspire 1 cannot read the bin file if it is zipped up

For clarification, which SD cards have you tried and what were they formatted to? How long would you let the camera sit before determining the update is not taking?

I just tried it again and let it sit the camera goes from solid green to blinking red with no sound beeping. I formatted to FAT32

I have no issues updating the inspire V1 with the X3 camera!!

As long as the file on the SD card log says "success " then you are good.  the beeping is nIce but not crucial.

If you have a red and green flashing light , that is great as well.

Can you simply go to the "About " Page on the go app and Post a screen shot .   Or list what versions each of the systems are on . This will tell us if the Update is on there.

I think you may be updated already , but need to see the SD card" Hidden file" and or the "About "Page  on the go app.

the problem is the X5 camera not reading the card and doing the update. I installed the X3 camera off another Inspire and all went as planned like the last updates I have done. this is why I cannot get a log file also.

I am having the exact same problem as bhumme. Will no accept the file to start the update. This happened with the last update as well. Only after inserting diff card after card did I get it to accept before. I've done numerous updates with the phantom so I am very familiar with the process. Format card, drag bin file not zip and upload to camera. So frustrating.

Based on what you provided, you attempted to put the OSMO firmware onto your Inspire 1 Pro. You should be using the firmware from the Inspire 1 Pro's Download page.

Just to clarify, what does your Overall Status page and About page tell you at this point? Does it say that an update is still required? What does your About page list as the firmware versions for your Aircraft, RC, X3 and X5 camera?

Using DJI go app 2.8.3, aircraft version 1.8.1.0, camera 1.8.1.01 I've formatted the card numerous times, on my mac and in the App. Trying to upgrade to this firmware  WM610_FW_V01.09.01.10 (1) Def didn't download osmo firmware. Nothing happens when I turn on Aircraft. Normal solid green startup light appears. Will not accept upgrade package.

do I feel like a real A** I was using the regular inspire 1 update. never saw inspire pro!! I always clicked on support downloads then inspire and it does not give you options if you take this route.

I wouldn't beat yourself up over it, oversight can happen. Making Inspire 1 Pro more accessible via the Support page would be something that we can bring to the appropriate department for further review.

I am having issues as well. I can't update to 1.9. My craft is an Inspire Pro X5 currently running AC 1.6.4 RC 1.5.8 an GO 2.8.3. I have 3 SD cards have reformatted via MAC and App. Every time I try to update AC I get a solid green light on camera. There is no TXT file after all these attempts. Under my hidden files under LOG I get a EXEC file for an Omso 550.  I have downloaded inspire pro firmware ver 1.9 and put only bin folder on SD card.

Maybe my tips page can help , just take some time and read it, Might give an idea .

Make sure you have the file for the Pro and not the Raw, they are on the same page.  




Always format SD  on the Aircraft,  and if you can get a PC I would get my file from there too.   If you must get it from the Mac be sure to just use the BIN file, the Mac's auto unzip the file and you must only use the BIN.

Enable hidden files on your MAC to make sure your have a clean formatted SD card.

Windows system :

I finally got my update to take. Not really sure what did it. Just kept formatting and switching the cards til one worked.

You sure there is not the wrong sofware on the link for the inspire pro. Maybe a bad link that is for the OSMO. I will try on Windows later today and let you know. Thank you. I will send the LOG file after format again to see if OSMO is off of there.

I viewed hidden files on PC and the same showed OSMO.  I reformatted, I am running XP. Downloaded new firmware and BINGO! It worked. I must of tried 20 times on OS and noting. ADVISE to do update on PC for some reason. Thanks for the help Ken and Donnie.

I guess the key takeaway is to remember that there are camera specific packages for each FW update and if you have multiple craft / cameras, you need to be mindful that you cannot simply pop a FW upgrade from one camera to another and shift aircraft. I have an issue updating battery;s. I have one battery under status on GO that states all normal. I have another battery that will not update. I have not uploaded firmware again, I just get solid green light, and after power cycle with AC and DJI still running I get Batt firmware needs to be upgraded refer to flight academy.  It shows aircraft 1.7.9. For some reason under my hidden files still shows OSMO 550 and that's it. My other battery all is good under about under all current firmware specs.  I'll be sure to calibrate IMU and gimbal before ops. Anybody do a no prop test to see what happens?

When I downloaded that file it immediately worked perfectly.  

It would seem that the wrong software gets downloaded if you go to the Inspire 1 Downloads page  http://www.dji.com/inspire-1/info#downloads !!!

The problem is that website is misleading.

When you go to the firmware download page (Below) the firmware is shown for Inspire 1. It is far from clear that to get to the Inspire pro software you need to click on select product, then select the correct camera, then look for the Inspire 1 Pro software. Please DJI take a look and see if you can improve the design. You need to look at it through the eyes of newbies who don't fully understand that the firmware is linked to the camera type!!

Hi having read all these posts on this feed and tried it all.

I'm still having the same issue.  Never had any issues before.

Ive an X5 Inspire 1 PRO!  

Ive downloaded all the correct Firmware and unzipped the file and loaded onto the SD card.

Ive even roll backed the Controller.

But nothing seems to be working, the controller is still saying Aircraft / Battery and Controller needs updating.

Ive left this bin file in the SD card, turned the unit on and off after leaving for a while.

Any ideas anyone???

Go to the "About" page tab on the go app and see what it says there, make sure the system is all on , AC, RC go app.   Then please list them here ,it may already be up to date.  If you have a + sign after the old fw it means it is updated but must sync with DJI servers.

Also look at the SD card after the install to the AC, what does it say .  It should say "success "  if other than that let us know .
Here is a link to the Pro page , make sure you are getting the Pro download and not the Raw.
***Dont keep rolling back on the RC or AC it will just make it worse .  Get it updated and  then list the About page and we can go from there.  Make sure you have not loaded the Raw FW, the Firmware numbers look almost identical but are different .
