Hello everybody I have one question should I upgrade  the firmware on my inspire 1 I  mean do I need to? I haven't fly it in a while but  I didn't have any problems before, I been taking care of the batteries and today want it to fly it but first I want to make sure if it's okay to not upgrade because of so many stories of people upgrading and after that having problems, right now is in AC 1.6.00.40 RC 1.5.80 and App is in 2.4.3  what did you guys think? maybe I can fly it with out upgrading but at some point I'm going to need to???
thank you.

According to the release notes, several small issues were addressed since 1.6 AC firmware, including, but not limited to:

Zone restriction upgrades - including removal of abandoned airports
Encryption improvements for AC and RC
Gimbal enhancements and stability
Color space improvements (DLOG and Cinelike
Digital zoom control when recording for 720p, 1080p, 2.7k (pinch zoom)

If you are happy stay where you are at then stay .   Go to the downloads page for the Inspire 1  and read the "Release Notes" and see if there is anything that you really need or want .  I am at 1.8 on the AC and 1.6 on the RC and am quite happy here .

Keep in mind that if you do an update to the GO App then You could run into trouble as some of the Older AC and RC FW does not seem to play nice with the latest go app.  So If you update the Go  app then you are going to have to update to  to a more recent  fw version .

If you like I have a file with the older FW so you could update to the FW version of your choice , You just can't go backwards, well you can but Only one previous version from the one currently loaded on the AC.
If you do decide to update please read my tips page ( before attempting any updates )  so you dont get your stones got in a wringer .

I think I'm going to stay like this for now until I got into any problems and had to update later on... thanks for the offering though.

Sure , but dome a favor and read my tips page for a refresher  when you do update .  I would rather you take 5 minutes than spend a month without you system going in for repair. ......It happens believe me !

Like others have mentioned, if you're doing fine on the firmware you're on, then you don't need to. If you do want any featers that are added in later firmware, however, then you would need to update. The latter is at your discretion.

I wouldn't do it! Seems it has a bad bug in it from the autonomous apps makers now showing up.

Autologic's Autopilot has released this warning:

"There is currently an issue with the latest DJI firmware for the Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 2 which causes erratic flight behavior in Autopilot. We do not recommend* using Autopilot with these aircraft types until a resolution has been found for this issue. If you are using firmware 01.03.0200 or below, you should not see these issues.

* It is still possible to safely use Human Flight Control Modes and Waypoint Mode as long as Lost Connection is set to Continue Mission (LCMC).

We will send out another correspondence when this issue has been resolved."

DJI Firmware Update Issue:

"Dear Litchi Pilots,

There is currently an issue with the recently released firmwares for Mavic Pro (v01.03.0500), Inspire 2 (v01.0.0240) and Phantom 4 Pro (v01.03.0418) where the drone will fly erratically in some of Litchi’s flight modes. If you already installed one of these firmwares, we highly recommend not using these flight modes until the issue is fixed with a DJI firmware update. The following flight modes are affected: VR with Immersive/Joystick Head Tracking active, Follow, Focus and Track. All other flight modes (including FPV, Waypoint, Orbit and VR with Immersive/Joystick Head Tracking OFF) are unaffected.

The Litchi Team"
