Accoring to DJI Malaysia Facebook said " New motors 2312A 800KV are a little bit more powerful than old 2312 960KV ones. New 2312A motors are more stable and balanced compare to the old ones. With new 2312A aircraft efficiency is increased by 7% which can push the flight time to 1 -2 minutes longer. "

Is it a lot diffrent ??

In "real world" flight, people are not noticing that much difference.. But NEW is always better

From the picture it appears you can't use the spanner to tighten/loosen the props on the new motor.
And an extra 1-2 mins on a 15 minute flight is quite good.

Please don't tighten your props with either tool.
It will increase your chances of stripping the prop threads which has lead to at lease a couple of P3s falling from the sky.
I advise only using these tools to loosen a very tight prop.

My first P3A, which I received in May, of course had the old motors.  It was replaced under warranty due to being bricked by a firmware upgrade, and the replacement has the new motors.  I notice that the new motors are much cooler after a flight, when I remove the props, than the old ones.

Last year, I once launched my Phantom 2 Vision full throttle up to 100', then backed off the left stick.  One prop came off and kept climbing.  The aircraft fell into some shrubbery and was undamaged, and the prop came fluttering down.  I had hand tightened the props.  Since that experience, I always used the wrench to tighten a little more with the P2V.
I notice the props have a different feel when tightening them on the P3A.  There seems to be more friction on the motor threads before they bottom out.  I no longer use the wrench, with the P3A, but do make sure they are plenty snug by hand.  After doing the CSC to start the motors, the P3A will twice quickly rev the motors.  I wonder if this is to tighten the props.  The P2V didn't do this.

I have carefully compared the two motors. The older motor is definitely stronger by design and probably more expensive to build. I prefer the older motor because the base is much stronger and it lends itself better for cleaning and lubricating which is important since i fly on the beach a lot and sand can be a problem. the new motor is difficult to clean because it is now enclosed at the bottom. Let me order a few of the older before they stop making them.

My replacement P3A with new motors flies every bit as well as the original unit.  I didn't  do any flight-time comparisons so can't answer the question of whether the new ones give a little more time.

Are you really lubricating them? How?

Yes i do. I remove the prop then the 4 allan screws holding the motor, one motor at a time, then i remove the motor from its mounting. the wires are just long enough to tilt the motor and expose the bottom bearing. then i clean the motor mounting and the motor itself. then i apply a product called Q20 lubrication. It is a spray that comes with a thin pipe nozzle that easily directs the lubrication into the bearings. at the same time it displaces moisture and prevents rust. I use the same to clean the motor winding by spraying it through. I do this at least twice a month. just cant see how the tiny bearings can keep on going at high speed forever without lubricating them.

Please note that the new 2312A motor is not compatible with old central board (Spare Part No. 33)!

If you have metal threads, you must be using P2 props which are definitely NOT suitable for P3.
You will lose it.

1 to 2 more minutes could make the difference in getting your bird back or not in a RTH situation.  I like it.  Also, I never use the metal wrench to tighten or loosen the props so I like the new plastic one better (if it works).

I just spoke to a local DJI dealer, who checked a set, & tells me the Phantom 3 carbon fiber reinforced rotor blades do not have any metal bushing.
So I am rather curious how or why those rotor blades of yours, Swedrone, do have a metal thread liner.

Not a problem. I was surprised myself when hearing the sound of metal when putting them on. Under close examination and a strong light I could se a tiny metal thread in the very top of the hub.

At the bottom of this link https://www.dji.com/info/release ... al-advanced-motors1, they have photos for the 2 motors, I see the old one has the red wire on the top of the screw opening, so if you have a long screws (which what you get from 3rd parties props guards), you may cut that wire. I believe the new one has more secured wires...in terms of performance, I can't talk about that as they really didn't mention any details, but I always say new is always better.

You cannot use the "New" motors without also replacing the main control board or the ESC's will all fail.

DJI posted a notice about this fact: http://www.dji.com/info/releases ... al-advanced-motors1

So unless you plan to replace the control board along with the motors... Don't order new motors or you will blow out your controller board.

There are no brushes or contacts inside these motors.  Contact "spray" will only damage your motors.

Do NOT spray anything but compressed air into your motors to clean out dust.  The bearings are sealed.  There is nothing to clean out but dust.

You would have to go through a dealer, they're normally pretty easy to look up.
