I have purchased the osmo battery extender and the phantom 3 battery cable but I was wondering if you could plug in your phantom charger and potentially run your osmo off a wall outlet by utilizing the remote control charging port?

Any comments would be helpful, if it is possible it might be useful for 12+ hour timelapse videos,

Also how long will a fully charged phantom 3 battery run an osmo on the extender?

yeah, you can use phantom 3 charger with you osmo battery extender, but at the moment it does not work and DJI has confirmed that next firmware will fix it.

Hi, to use Phantom 3 battery on Osmo, in addition to the battery extender, you also need Battery (2 PIN) to DC Power Cable.   You can find more info here https://store.dji.com/product/os ... om=related_products

Original Osmo battery is 980mAh, 11.1V.  P3 battery is  4480mAh, 15.2V.  So the P3 battery should help to add about five times of the battery life of the stock Osmo battery.

Hi H.C,

You wrote the original Osmo battery is 980mAh, 11.1V.
My Phantom 2 Batteries are also 11.1V.
Will they work with the Osmo?

Thank you.

In theory, yes, they should work. But currently DJI don't produce connection cables for Phantom 2 batteries.

Perfect! I bet I can hack something using your external battery extender and your Battery (2 PIN) to DC Power Cable.

Thanks!

Thanks, but that's another $162 investment. (Plus $30 to $40 for the battery extender and 2 pin cable and shipping).

Since I already have a few Phantom 2 batteries, I'll order the external battery extender and the 2 pin cable ($30 to $40). I should be able to hack the cable to fit. Don't ya think?

Not sure which post,  I normally answer people. Probably because you didn't quote me, or click the "reply" button, so I wasn't notified in the forum.

The port of phantom 2 battery seems to be customarily designed, I'm not sure how difficult it is to DIY a cable or if you can find a kit somewhere online. Since I don't own a Phantom 2. But I do remember people who successfully did that. You might try searching online a bit.

If you buy this one, https://www.amazon.com/RAVPower- ... ernal/dp/B00HFMUBYG  and a DJI battery extender

It will cost you  $100+25=$125.  You can also use this power bank for your iPad or phones when you're traveling, or jump start your car.
